The CTY-Air Quality System can automatically analyze the daily forecast results, make early warnings of excessive air pollution, and facilitate decision-making to avoid high pollution situations.
The examples below illustrate how the CTY-Air Quality System can be utilized to handle extremely unfavorable weather conditions.
Current Emergent Mechanism (Red Line)
When an extremely unfavorable weather condition makes AQI exceeds the limit value of 400, the system will give an alarm. The decision-making unit can take action by applying emission reduction instructions. As it takes time for the decision-making and emission reduction to have effect, AQI cannot be controlled in a timely and effective manner. As shown in Fig. 5, AQI exceeds the given standard seriously in three days.
CTY-Air Quality System (Blue Line)
As CTY-Air Quality System can effectively forecast the air quality 3-7 days in advance, it will give an early warning before the unfavorable weather conditions occur, give the causes of heavy pollution, and provide suggestions for solutions to the decision-making units for reference. It can be seen from Fig. 5 that the decision-making unit has given emission reduction instructions before the events occur, so that the future AQI is effectively reduced to below 300. CTY-Air Quality System can effectively avoid situations which plague existing approaches due to its long range forecasting and solution reporting.
