FAQ - CLUSTERTECH Grid Engine (CGE) |
If you finds your program having a lot of big chunks of task that
requires substantial computing power to complete, you can use CGE to
ease your coding effort to distribute, with load balancing feature, to
the backend computing nodes.
It depends on the dependency of the tasks. If the tasks are
independent of each other, many tasks can be executed in parallel in the
backend execution nodes. CGE allows dependency specification of the
tasks and will exploit an optimal execution plan for them.
CGE can runs on most UNIX platforms such as Linux, Solaris, and AIX.
C++ and Java.
CGE can be used with PBSPro, torque, and Sun Grid Engine.
