We are pleased to announce the release of CHESS Version 2.0. The new version has already won two significant awards, namely the 2009 Technological Achievement Certificate of Merit in the Hong Kong Awards for Industries and the China Outstanding Software Products Award on December, 2009.

The Hong Kong Awards for Industries (Technological Achievement) is organized by the Trade and Industry Department of the Hong Kong Government. It is widely recognized in the industry. The judging criteria are technology merits, intellectual property, impact on the industry, market recognition of the technology and technology culture of the company.

China Outstanding Software Products Award (COSPA) Election is a national software product assessment event organized by the China Software Industry Association (CSIA). The criteria for the award include functionality and practicality level, product technology level, commercialization level, user usage situation and market share. CHESS2.0 performed remarkably well among other competitors in all five aspects.

This release of CHESS brings several exciting new features and enhancements:

Enhancement of the Recovery Process: In addition to the original node recovery function in CHESS1.0, CHESS2.0 also provides a new function to conveniently recover the cluster to its initial status. Users can back up the critical configuration information for future use.

Enhancement of the User-friendliness of the Interface: The GUI of CHESS2.0 uses AJAX and Flash to allow easier user interaction. It also provides better logging information, with multiple uages support. Even the command line interface has been improved for easier use with more supporting documents.

Flexibility: Various templates are provided in CHESS2.0 for users to customize their configuration files.
