A High Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC) for weather simulation at the Ocean University of China

Cluster Technology partners with Dell to deliver to the Ocean University of China a HPCC based turnkey solution for weather simulation. The hardware of the HPCC is based on Dell 1750 servers with Intel Xeon processors. The software implementation is based on the Clustertech HPC Environment Software Stack (CHESS), on which the PSU/NCAR model for simulation of mesoscale atmospheric circulation (MM5) is integrated. The complete turnkey solution passed the Linpack and MM5 acceptance tests and was deployed in Feb 2004.
