The ReTAAS Retail Management and IT Application Seminar jointly held by Hong Kong Productivity Council(HKPC), GS1, and Hong Kong Retail Management Association (HKRMA) was held at the Hong Kong Productivity Council on March 10, 2015. More than 50 guests from the Hong Kong retail industry attended the seminar. Mr. Kelvin Koo, the business development manager of ClusterTech, introduced the new IT trends and solutions for the retail industry.
Hong Kong retailers need to not only provide better quality products, services and shopping experience, but more importantly, learn how to use new technology and rapid development platform across different channels to attract and retain customers. In order to address challenges of increasing operating costs and manpower shortage, retailers can use technology to improve business operation processes, reduce daily tedious work, reduce stress and improve productivity of employee. This also indirectly reduces employee turnover.
The HKSAR Government sets aside $50 million in the Retail Technology Adoption Assistance Scheme for Manpower Demand Management (ReTAAS) to help the retail enterprises adopt relevant information and communications technology, and other technologies that help manage manpower demand. All non-listed enterprises registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance (Chapter 310) with substantive retail business operations in Hong Kong are eligible to apply. In this seminar, ReTAAS Secretariat introduced this funding scheme and the application details.
