Dr. Wai Mo Suen, Founder and CEO of ClusterTech, was interviewed by RTHK, sharing his point of view on the development of Hong Kong’s technology companies in the Greater Bay Area.
During the interview, Dr. Suen mentioned his original intention of developing high-performance computing in Hong Kong and Mainland, and also mentioned that technologies such as high-performance computing and big data analysis had been applied to our daily life, like digital image processing, air pollution prediction, etc. ClusterTech hoped to improve the computing power and efficiency of various industries through related technological services.
Dr. Suen said that many science and technology companies and Internet companies in Shenzhen and Guangzhou needed big data analysis and high-performance computing services. Therefore, ClusterTech kept abreast of customer needs and set up branches in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and other first-tier cities. Dr. Suen said that the computation amount of high-performance computing in Mainland was the second largest in the world, but the technical level was far from world-class. Dr. Suen hoped that ClusterTech could contribute to shortening the technical gap.
Regarding the development of the Greater Bay Area, Dr. Suen said that Hong Kong had advantages in financial technology, while Mainland was leading in industrial big data, they were complementary to each other. Promoting the application of high-performance computing and big data analysis was also a national policy currently. As an international city, Hong Kong needed to know its strengths and position so that it can better match national development.
ClusterTech has enjoyed years of steady growth, extending its business from its Hong Kong headquarters to Mainland China, Taiwan, UK, Canada, Australia and Singapore, and provided modern computing products and services to hundreds of national and international institutes and companies. We will continue to provide more advanced products and professional services in the future.
